Tabs|Default Registry entry

Specify which tabs in a module to display / hide for a user / group by default.

The Tabs Registry entry specifies which tabs to display / hide dynamically based on a value selected or entered in a given field (i.e. Tab switching).

Usage

This Registry entry can be assigned to users and groups:

Key User User Group Group Group Group
Key 1 User User Group Group Group Group
Key 2 user user group group Default Default
Key 3 Table Table Table Table Table Table
Key 4 table Default table Default table Default
Key 5 Tabs
Key 6 Default
Value tab;tab;...

where:

tab;tab;...

is a semicolon separated list of tabs to display in Search mode and in Display, New, and Edit modes.

tab is the back-end name of the tab (see Field Level Help for details of how to identify the back-end name of the tab).

Tabs displayed in Display, New and Edit modes have:

  • the prefix All
  • followed by the first three letters of the tab name (e.g. Org for the Organisation tab)
  • and the suffix Tab

e.g. AllOrgTab is the back-end name of the Organisation tab in New mode.

Tabs displayed in Search mode have the prefix Qry, e.g. QryOrgTab.

Note: The keyword All may be used to display all tabs in a module.

A tab name may be preceded by a:

-

to indicate that it should be hidden.

+

to indicate that it should be displayed. This will override a - setting and is useful if a -All is used (to hide all tabs) and then +tab is used to list those to display.
